Three-Week Vacation in the Philippines

Igal and I just finished our almost 3-week trip around the Philippines. We’ve been planning it since December last year. Number 1 on Igal’s things-to-do list was diving. I let him decide on where he wanted to do the dive and he chose Coron. I then started working on other places we could visit from Coron. We have finalized our target destinations by January and and we’ve decided on exploring the following places:

  • Masungi Georeserve
  • Coron (Busuanga) Palawan
  • El Nido Palawan
  • Puerto Princesa Palawan
  • Siargao Island

Here’s how we went around:

From To Transport Duration
Makati Masungi Georeserve Car 2 hours
Manila Coron (Busuanga) Airplane 70 mins
Coron (Busuanga) El Nido Ferry 3.5 to 4 hours
El Nido Puerto Princesa Van 5 to 6 hours
Puerto Princesa Cebu Airplane 75 mins
Cebu Siargao Airplane 65 mins
Siargao Manila Airplane 2 hours

Masungi Georeserve can be done as a day trip from Metro Manila. Our island activities kicked-off at Coron. There’s no direct flight from Puerto Princesa Palawan to Siargao. Travelers should transit either through Cebu or Manila. We chose Cebu because it’s closer. We only spent a night in Cebu since we didn’t have enough time. If we had an extra week, we could have stayed longer to explore it.

This vacation means I have new write-ups added to my things-to-do. Crossing fingers! 🙂

Have you been to the Philippines? How would you spend your three weeks when you go on vacation in the Philippines?
